Just a few snapshots of todays activities
On Thursday 7th July, nine girls from Year 5&6 went to St. Mary's Stadium in Southampton to see Norway play Northern Ireland in the Women's Euro 22 tournament. For most of the girls it was their first experience of live football match and they all had a fantastic time.
On Thursday 7th July, children from KS1 and KS2 competed in races representing their house teams. Everyone tried their very best and the afternoon was a great success!
On Tuesday 5th July, KS1 and KS2 took part in a Sports Day Carousel. This involves children competing in house teams across several different activities.
The children from the junior choir performed magnificently alongside other Portsmouth school choirs last week. They were enthusiastic, professional and brave - singing songs about the city of Portsmouth.
Yesterday afternoon, the Year 6s set up a movie night for their Make £5 Grow project. We had three different films: Encanto, Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs.
Everyone enjoyed sweets and drinks as they sang along and enjoyed the films.
Last night, as part of their Make £5 Grow project, the Year 6s ran two discos: one for KS1 and another for KS2. They both went extremely well and everyone had lots of fun!
Year 6 have been undertaking their Make £5 Grow project over the past few weeks. Each child receives a £5 start-up fee and through their own enterprise (creating a small business) they have to try and make the £5 grow. This has involved selling things at playtime to other members of the school; sponsored events and organising a disco and cinema night.
Year 6 were invited to form a group of mathematicians to attend the Primary Maths Challenge at Oakmoor. The team worked really well together and solved a variety of challenging Maths problems. Well done guys!
We enjoyed celebrating our Queen's historic platinum jubilee in true Weyford style.
