At Weyford Nursery and Primary School, all KS2 children receive 30 minutes of Spanish teaching per week. Lessons are taught by Miss Plaza, who was born and raised in Spain. Our goal is for all children to improve written and oral skills as well as develop their knowledge of the world and other cultures. Throughout the year children are exposed to a variety of listening, speaking, writing and reading activities.
During Modern Foreign Language lessons multiculturalism is celebrated. Children not only learn about the language, but also about Spanish culture and tradition.
Year 6 have started a pen pals project!
Year 6 have started a pen-pals project with a school in Spain. The students from CPI Ramon y Cajal, from Ayerbe, Spain, have been sending us letters with questions and telling us a bit about themselves. We have already answered in Spanish with some lovely introductory letters, practising our sentence structure and written skills!
We cannot wait to hear back from them!
