‘Working Together for Excellence’

Year 3

Welcome to the summer term!

We are really excited about this term and the amazing topics we are going to learn about.

We are starting with the Ancient Egyptians (including a fascinating trip to Haslemere Museum), we will be printing in art and learning all about the famous printer William Morris.

In science we are looking at plants, how they grow and produce food... and so much more.

What an amazing first half term!

I think we are all ready for a well-earned half term break!

During autumn 2, we will be delving deeper into the geography and community that makes up Bordon.

We will also be moving through our first science topic 'Light and Shadow'.

You will see from our star icons (in the home-learning tab), that we are slowly adding more home learning tasks, such as times tables and maths challenges. The maths challenges will reinforce the learning that has been completed each week or provide a quick assessment of learning.

We also ask that you encourage your child / children to read aloud at least 5 times per week - this can be recorded in the back of their home-learning books (a diary based sheet will be given to all children to stick in).

PE will continue to be on Tuesday and Friday each week.

Welcome to Year 3!

We hope that you have had a chance to relax over the summer holiday.

From week beginning 18.9.23, our PE days are on Tuesday and Friday.

Please wear your PE kit all day at school, your PE kit will be;

black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms with a t-shirt in your house colour and your school jumper.

This half term our topic is history based, we will discover how people lived in Stone Age Britain and how life changed over time, through the Bronze Age and into the Iron Age.

We are very excited about our trip to Butser Ancient Farm.
