This term we are learning about the Romans...
Hook Day saw Weyford invaded by Year 3 Roman soldiers marching around the school chanting "Dexter, Sinister" the Latin for right and left with their shields for protection the soldiers were seen to halt on their leaders command of "Testudo" and form a shield wall formation.
Thank you to Openbox Theatre Company for an amazing workshop to begin our topic.
Hi I'm Miss Fraser and I'm really looking forward to teaching Year 3 this year. I've worked at Weyford Nursery and Primary School for around 5 years now and I have taught Year 3, Year 4 and Year 6 during my time here.
My favourite subjects to teach are English and Music because these are also the subjects I enjoy the most outside of school.
When I am at home, I enjoy reading, watching films, listening to music and spending time with my family and friends. I also like to travel. In the last few years I have been to Denmark, Spain, Germany, Austria and Italy.
I can't wait to see you all in September!
Hi, my name is Sara Morton. I am as old as my eyes and a bit older than my teeth which is rather old! I live with my husband Andrew, my son Luke, and my dog, Barnie. I have another son, Joe, a daughter Beth and two grandaughters, Lily and Jasmine who are 5 years old and 9 months. I love to be by the sea, both in summer and winter especially in Wales which is where my family come from and the place I really call home.
I enjoy listening to music and adore singing, you can often hear me coming before you see me! Another thing I love is SHOES. I do own rather a lot of shoes!
I have worked at Weyford for a very long time and have enjoyed every minute of it. The lessons I am most fond of are History, English, Reading and of course Music. I have worked in years 3, 4,5 and 6, most recently in years 5 and 6 so I’m really looking forward to working in year 3 once again!
My name is Abbi Jones and I live with my husband Carl and my two children Holly, who’s 16 and Harry, who is 13. We have lots of pets! We have two dogs, Bella and Waffle, three cats, Duke, Porsha and Willow and lots of chickens!
I have been at Weyford for nearly 9 years and I started off working in reception and then moved up to year one and then year two where I have been for 5 years so I’m looking forward to the challenge of moving up to year 3 with you all.
When I’m not at school I enjoy looking after and riding my horses and I love shopping for posh handbags!
I am Miss Coyte and this is my fifth year at Weyford. I enjoy teaching all areas of the curriculum but have a real passion for Maths with my specialist subject being PE. (I trained as a secondary PE Teacher, but enjoyed teaching younger children so much I switched to Primary.) My favourite part of the school day is story time, when I get to show off my dramatic side playing all the characters in the book with voices and sound effects to match!
My hobbies include rugby, performing with local theatre groups and anything that will get me outside on an adventure, in particular canoeing.
I am looking forward on going on adventures with my class, fuelled by their curiosity sparked through our learning this year.
My name is Mrs Boyden, I’ve worked at Weyford for 16 happy years, for the last 3 years have been in Year 3. I really enjoy working at the school and watching the children grow as they learn.
I am looking forward to meeting you all in September.
I enjoy cooking, walking and spending time with my Granddaughter.
