‘Working Together for Excellence’

Year 4

              Welcome to year 4

This half term we will be applying our knowledge of our previous Science unit on Electricity to help use investigate, design and create a working torch.  Lots of time will be spent experimenting with circuits and materials to see which will be the most suitable to create a torch for us to use for bed time reading.

Hello, my name is Mrs David. I have been teaching at Weyford for just under 20 years.  Knowing that every single day is going to be different and seeing you blossom over the year is why I am in this role.  I believe that as a teacher I am not just there to teach you new things but also to learn from you too.  I am Assistant Head, which involves me taking on many different roles during the school day.  I especially enjoy teaching English and History.

When I’m not at school I am busy being a Mummy to my two gorgeous children Harriet and Joshua.  They keep me on my toes.  I enjoy spending time with the family, going on long walks and exploring the countryside where it is mainly feeding the ducks or visiting numerous parks. Marwell is one of my favourite places where I can go and visit the giraffes.  I also enjoy cosying up and watching a good film with a hot chocolate.

Hello, my name is Mrs Dobbs and I'm very excited to be teaching Holmes Class this year.  I'm sure we will be doing lots of learning as well as having many laughs along the way.

I have been teaching for over twenty years.  My first teaching position was in a Catholic School in Ealing, London.  Wanting to see the world, I then went to work in international schools in Taiwan, Egypt and then seven years in Vietnam.

When I was younger I loved acting. I trained at Guildford School of Acting and even managed to get a few lines on EastEnders!  I now live in Petersfield with my husband, step-son and tabby cat.

Hello, I am Mrs Darling and I have been a teaching assistant at Weyford for twenty years and I am also responsible for the school library. My favourite subjects are Mathematics, Art, Science and Geography.

Outside school, I am a Brownie Leader with 3rd Bordon Brownies and a qualified Girlguiding Trainer. I have achieved the County Gold award for my services to Girlguiding. My hobbies are cooking, gardening and walking.

I love working with children and seeing them grow in confidence and achieve.

Friday 13th May was World Culture Day at Weyford.  During the day we continued with our aboriginal English unit based around the story of Wombat goes Walkabout.  Also during the day some children shared with the rest of the class their Filipino cultures and traditions. Sharing with everyone information about  the Philippines which is where their parents originated from. They also a famous Filipino delicacies "Dried Philippine Mangoes" as Philippines is known to produce the best mangoes in the world. Mrs Darling shared with them all about her Irish Heritage.
