On Thursday 27th April, we were visited by Maddi Tarrant (who is a Team GB gymnast). Maddi delivered some exercise workshops, gave an assembly to the whole school and posed for some photos. Maddi was absolutely fantastic and we loved having her visit our school.
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 had the opportunity of taking part in some archery sessions with a local club. The sessions were run by Coach Toby and Coach George and focussed on the techniques of loading and firing.
Weyford came together for a special remembrance assembly today. Children from nursery through to year six made wreaths to lay during the assembly to pay respects to service personnel both in the past and to give thanks to those who are still in service today.
We listened intently as we watched the Last Post being played on Portsdown Hill, and were proud to hear children from each year group giving a specially chosen reading.
Well done to all children who payed their respects during our assembly today, and special thanks to those children who laid wreaths or who were brave enough to give a reading.
We had a brilliant assembly this morning, showing off all of our costumes from the decades and having a sing and dance. Each year group performed a different song and everyone else danced along. What a great way to end the half term!
A huge well done to every child in the school, who took part in this year's oracy competition to celebrate National Poetry Day.
Congratulations to Rufus Monah (Y2), the winner in the infants.
The winners in the juniors are: Robert Namura, Noah Luksys and Cameron Clarke from Year 6.
Weyford remembers HM Queen Elizabeth II through drawings and flowers.
Children and staff from Weyford signed a book of condolence for Queen Elizabeth II yesterday with Mayor Leroy Scott from Bordon and Whitehill.
The staff and children from Weyford wanted to take flowers to Jubilee Park on Friday 9th September after hearing the sad news of her passing.
On Wednesday 13th July, the Year 6 children spent the day at Go Ape. An action packed day full of climbing, swinging, jumping and games. Some children overcame their fears and everyone had a go. An extra well done to Lilly from Attenborough Class for winning the challenge- completing the course with a cup of water in her hand. A great day all round!
