Weyford Sports Wall of Fame

Luke (Holmes class) tried his hand at fishing at the Petersfield District and Angling Club. He was given this certificate for not only learning how to fish but also for successfully becoming an angler and also catching some fish!

Lucas (Holmes class) plays for Wey Valley FC as a defender in the U9s team. Now that the football season has come to a close, Lucas was awarded this trophy for being Manager's Player for the 2022-2023 season.

Alice (Holmes class) attended the BBTF National Championships in Eastleigh where she competed in baton twirling. Alice was awarded medals for 1st place in Military March and 4th place in Solo Dance. Alice was also awarded three trophies for coming 1st in duet, basic marching and x-strut. Finally, Alice was given a sash and trophy for winning the most number of trophies in strut during the baton twirling season making her the overall champion in strut in her age group 8-9 yrs.

On Thursday 11th May, 11 children from across years 3 to 6 represented Weyford at the tennis tournament. This was the final tournament of the year and the children played incredibly well. Thank you to all the children and parents/carers who have helped make The Championship a huge success once again.

Biba (Holmes class) participated in a dance competition organized by TMF Dance. The competition was held in Chessington on Sunday April 30th. Biba won four medals in the following categories: 1st in Under 12s Novice for four dance: tango, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep 1st in Under 10s waltz and tango 1st in Under 10s cha-cha and jive 3rd in Under 12s Novice for four dance: cha-cha, samba, rumba, jive

Hazel (Holmes) participated in a rugby tournament at Petersfield Rugby Club over the weekend. She plays in the centre position and was awarded the position of team captain after her wonderful performance which included lots of great tackles!

Biba (Holmes) participated in the South Coast Championships in Horndean on March 12th 2023. The competition was divided into different age groups for Ballroom Dancing and Latin Dance. Biba was awarded the following medals and trophy: 1st in Latin 2nd in Latin 2nd in Ballroom 3rd in Ballroom 4th in Latin 4th in Ballroom 5th in Ballroom 5th in Latin

Biba (Holmes class) was awarded these medals at the All England Open Championships held in Blackpool. Biba, who is an avid and talented dancer, came 5th in Ballroom dancing and 6th in Latin Dance.

Grace (Holmes class) was awarded these medals after finishing Stage 1 and Stage 2 of gymnastics at Core Academy. Grace is now able to do a front roll, cartwheels and a handstand into bridge.

This is Eleni from Butterfly Class who has just passed her level 1 in swimming. She is very excited as she can carefully get into and out of the swimming pool safely and can happily move around the pool and even put water on her face.

Rogan (Steadman) earned his stage 1 and 2 swimming badges. Well done Rogan!

Anishka (Da Vinci) won bronze in the UK Open championships for Taekwondo. It was her first time in a competition - fantastic result!

Amelia (Gandhi) plays for Havant Rugby Club and was given the opportunity to be a ball girl for the senior men’s team game on Saturday 15th October.

Our fleet-footed family all competed at the Dance Premier Festival Winter Gardens in Blackpool this weekend. Biba (Holmes) was a winner in the Waltz and Jive; Dusty (Peake) won 3rd in the Cha Cha and danced with distinction in the Waltz whilst Acer (Moore) came 1st in the Quickstep and 2nd in the Cha Cha. Biba has also been selected to represent the National Squad at an upcoming competition in the Netherlands.More fantastic achievements from our fleet-footed family!

Mya (Earhart) won these awards for her excellent results in twirling, in particular in the Marching and Pom-Poms.
