Weyford Nursery and Primary School is one of the very few schools in Hampshire with its own nursery which is run and organised by a qualified teacher. We know that nursery provision has an enormous impact on children’s future life chances and all our evidence indicates that the children who attend our nursery school go on to do very well. We feel very privileged to be able to offer this resource and to give so many children such a good start in their school life.
Weyford Nursery and Primary School is a values driven school with the values of respect, nurture, aspiration and achievement underpinning everything we do. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, well cared for and secure in themselves. We work hard to build supportive relationships between all the adults and children to make sure that everybody enjoys their time in the school. We expect all members of our school community to take age appropriate responsibility for their own actions and learning. We have high expectations of everybody and provide the children with a wide range of challenging and engaging opportunities so that they can achieve at a high level.
As a school, we do not work in isolation and we value the partnership between school and home. We support parents and children through a range of fun and educational opportunities and will always try and work with our families in any way that we can. We believe that children are most successful when school and home work together. We also work in very close partnership with a range of pre-school providers and the local secondary schools. We see ourselves as a very important part of your child’s life and education and want to work with the other people in your child’s life to ensure that your child enjoys and develops well throughout the nursery/ primary years. We hope you share our vision of "Working Together for Excellence".
Weyford Nursery and Primary School was formed from the merger of Weyford Infant and Nursery School and Weyford Junior School. I have been appointed as the headteacher over the new primary school . I am very much enjoying getting to know the children and their families. I am finding the school a very warm and welcoming place to be with the children at the heart of every decision made. I am well supported by the administrative officers, Mrs Christine Leach and Mrs Lesley Steele, by the deputy headteacher, Mrs Lynne Roadnight and the two assistant headteachers Mrs Allison Jenkins and Mrs Stacey David. We all look forward to welcoming you to our school and one of us will always be very happy to meet with you.
