Our aim at Weyford Primary Academy is to encourage pupils to develop an appreciation and understanding of the past, evaluating a range of primary and secondary sources. We aim to ensure that all the children at the school gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. We want our pupils to understand the significance of the past and how history has influenced and impacted the world they see today. Through our focused teaching we aim to develop the children's historical skills to develop their own knowledge allowing pupils to develop the confidence to think critically, ask questions and be able to explain and analyse historical evidence.
