On Thursday 22nd February, Year 3&4 had their Rainforest Topic Day. This involved lots of exciting activities such as nature watching, making banana bread, creating sketches of tree frogs using pastels and discovering how food from the rainforest makes its way to the shelves in our supermarkets. We all discovered something new about the rainforest.

Winners! Wagtail were the recipients of Albert the Attendance Bear in our celebration assembly on Friday 23rd February. Well done everybody!

On Thursday 25th January, Year 3 were visited by Terry and Danielle. They are both lecturers at Basingstoke College of Technology and gave us a workshop on healthy eating. We discovered rare and unusual foods, how we wash our hands properly and created our own delicious fruit kebabs. Year 3 had a fantastic afternoon, and both Terry and Danielle were so impressed with our behaviour for learning. Well done Year 3!

Winners! Wagtail class were joint winners of Albert the Attendance Bear in celebration assembly. Both classes had an amazing 100% for the whole week. Well done everybody!

Thursday 11th January Year 3 had the privilege of listening to Swift class share their stories. Swift class had written their own version of 'The Tortoise and the Hare'. Year 3 had great fun listening to the entertaining stories.

I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas holiday and that you are ready for the new half term and the new year. I will be posting photos of all the amazing activities we do in class so you can show your families what we have been learning.

 

I will also put homework, spellings and other important information on here for your viewing.

Room on the Broom - Friday 8th December. Children from Wagtail and Dove class performed their play scripts to each other in the music room. The children turned the story of 'Room on the Broom' into a play script, using the features of play scripts including stage directions, adverbs and a narrator.

Science Experiment - how much friction do materials create? On Thursday 23rd November, Year 3 used ramps and toy cars to investigate the amount of friction different materials create. We had great fun measuring the distance the car travelled along the different materials using metre sticks and worked as teams to record our results accurately.
