Our new topic for this half-term is 'Superheros'. The children all dressed up as 'Superheroes' and had the opportunity to take part in lots of exciting activities, such as, making masks, designing their own superheroes, and programming Superhero Beebots. They had their photographs taken as if they were flying through the sky. The children have been thinking about making up their own Superheroes, going through a series of steps, thinking of a name, a sidekick, their super power, their den and their super food. They will design their Superhero on a template and then will use this template to make a Superhero puppet using a wooden spoon. Following this, the children will be involved with making up a story about their Superhero and writing their stories.
During book week, the focus was on 'Witches and Wizards'. The children shared the 'Winnie the Witch' stories and 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. They made a magic potion and then made lists of ingredients they would like in their potions. Book day will now take place on Friday 16th March.
